decided to build a doll house from scratch, like my nan did for me when I was ickle haha any tips?
Actually, oddly enough I’m looking into doing this too. I’ve build plenty from kits, but never one from scratch. A good place to start is About.com Miniatures. There are a lot of articles there about building it from scratch and several links to free dollhouse plans. And if you google it, there are lots of free plans out there.

On Scale
Every miniaturist at one point has to address the issue of scale. Scale refers to the ratio used to translate full sized objects into tiny treasures. Before beginning any project, the artist has to know what scale they are working in—it not only affects the size, but even the materials used.
